There are different ways to get around GIVSKUD ZOO. The park covers a large area, but here’s how to make sure you don’t miss anything.
Many ways to experience the animalsGIVSKUD ZOO should be seen on foot and by car. You can either use your own car, or take one of our Safari Buses and listen to the driver tell you about the animals you see along the way. When you arrive, you will be given a
map of GIVSKUD ZOO along with a list of the park’s safety regulations.
By car
GIVSKUD ZOO is a safari park, and you will see many of the animals from the comfort of your own car. When you arrive at the park, simply stay in your car and drive up to one of the ticket booths. Once you’ve paid your entrance fee, you can drive straight to the safari zone and see the animals from South America, North America and Africa.
By Safari BusThe Safari Bus takes the same route as visitors in their own cars, but passengers have the added bonus of hearing the driver talk about the animals along the way. Departure times vary during the season. The tour starts at car park P1. Tickets are available at the ticket booths. The tour takes around 1½ hours and finishes at car park P3. Click the calendar on the left for departure times on the day you plan to visit.
On footGIVSKUD ZOO has three large car parks (named P1, P2 and P3) which you will reach regardless of whether you take your own car or the Safari Bus. Every car park is located next to an area where the animals can only be viewed on foot. The car parks and the walking route are marked on the map you receive upon arrival. In total, GIVSKUD ZOO has around 6 km of footpaths.
Safari Train
The Safari Train is exceedingly popular with our youngest visitors! The ride starts at car park P2, right next to the large playground. The train drives around the area dedicated to domestic animals, and young and old alike can help the driver feed the goats, llamas, donkeys and yaks. The trip takes around 20 minutes. Tickets are purchased on the train.
Bring your dog
Dogs are welcome in GIVSKUD ZOO, either on a leash or in your own vehicle. In some enclosures our guests move among the wild animals on foot, and there dogs are not allowed. Also dogs cannot travel in our Safari Bus or Safari Train. Close to the meetingpoint at the entrance to the lion enclosure, there is a kennel, where your dog can wait comfortably, while you visit the enclosures prohibited for dogs.
