What’s planned for your stay

This section presents an impression of what an overnight stay in the Boma camp involves.

Arrival at GIVSKUD ZOO - ZOOTOPIA

You can enter the park as soon as the gates open at 10.00. Please note that there may well be a queue for the ticket office at this time. Remember to bring your order confirmation, which you need to show at the ticket office.

It is then time to head off on safari across the extensive Savannah. There are also plenty of animals you can visit on foot, and you can watch the daily feeds. If you have children with you, make sure to visit the giant playground where there are activities for children of all ages.

Check-in at the Boma camp

At 17.00, you meet up with a guide by the entrance to the Boma camp (P2). The guide will hand out keys, allocate tents, provide instructions in how to light a camp fire, and explain the safety instructions to you. For this reason, you must be at the camp at 17.00.

The keys are for locking the entrance to the Boma camp if you leave it during the park opening hours. You can also use the keys to exit the park if you need to leave outside normal opening

hours.

Dinner

You are welcome to bring your own food and cook over the campfire. You can also visit one of the restaurants in the park.
As you need to be back in the Boma camp no later than 19.00, it is a good idea to eat no later than 18.00.

Evening get-together

In the evening, it is a real delight to sit around the camp fire and enjoy the tranquillity in the park. The kitchen tent has a coffee maker and an electric kettle, and you are welcome to bring tea or coffee with you.

At 20.00, when the keepers have finished returning the animals to their enclosures, you are welcome to visit the playground. Children must be accompanied by an adult because it is strictly prohibited for them to be anywhere other than at the playground or on the path between the Boma camp and the playground.

NB! Alcohol is not permitted in the camp!

The night

Only the tents, the toilet building and the outdoor shower cabins feature electric light, so it is a good idea to bring one or more good torches with you.

Breakfast

Why don't you give it a try and make scrambled eggs and bacon over the campfire in the Boma? Or use a barbecue in the grill hut just outside the Boma camp. If you need to use kitchen utensils from the kitchen cabin, please make sure to do the washing up afterwards. You need to bring your own cloths and tea towels with you.
To make it simple you can also enjoy the breakfast buffet at GIVSKUD ZOO - HOSTEL 7.30-9.00 am. Please order the buffet in advance by calling +45 75 73 05 00 or make a reservation on the day of arrival.

Wake Up Zoo - if acquired

You can buy 'Wake Up Zoo' when you book 'Sleep on the Savannah'.

From 8.30 - 10.00 it is time for an exciting morning tour around one of the stables, where you will have the opportunity to get up close to the exotic animals. You must walk or drive down to area P3 yourself, where you will be picked up at the Safari Shop at 8.10

If you have eaten breakfast at GIVSKUD ZOO - HOSTEL, you must be ready at the ticket sales at 8.15 and start the Goodmorgen Zoo tour from there.

Check out from the Boma camp

Before leaving, you must sweep out your tent and take the linen covers off the duvets and pillows. The guide will meet you in the Boma camp at 10.30, collect your keys and bid you farewell – until next time. For the rest of the day, you can take a safari and admire the animals, or burn off some energy at the playground.
