Plateosaurus
Plateosaurus means “flat lizard”.
Plateosaurus is one of the earliest known dinosaurs. It was almost certainly one of the very largest of its period. Not only could it move around on all fours, but it could also stand up and walk on its hind legs alone. More than 100 skeletons have been found, so it is likely that this dinosaur was very common. Because multiple skeletons are often found in the same site, it is assumed that this dinosaur lived in herds.
