Triceratops

Triceratops means ”three-horned face”.

Triceratops had one of the most distinctive appearances of any dinosaur. Its skull is one of the largest ever recorded for a land-based animal. In fact, its skull could measure up to three metres in length, featuring three horns (each up to 1 m long) and a giant ‘frill’ around its neck. The horns and frill may have served to protect the creature against predators, but there is evidence to suggest they were mostly used as weapons/protection in battles with other members of the same species.
