The Bird Protection Foundation

The purpose of the Bird Protection Fund is to protect Denmark's birds. Specifically, the Bird Protection Fund purchases land in Denmark and converts it into nature reserves. The foundation owns and manages 24 nature reserves across the country, where birds can build nests, find food, and seek shelter.

In the reserves, nature restoration is carried out to create the best conditions for birds. The nature reserves are of national or international significance, and they protect not only wild birds but also a wide range of animals and plants.

In most reserves, paths and birdwatching towers have been established so that visitors can explore the areas, learn more about the species, and gain an understanding of the importance of nature conservation. The Bird Protection Fund also organizes guided tours in the areas. The Bird Protection Fund relies on inheritance, private contributions, and support from foundations.
